Poems by Vlora Bekteshi NeziriThis is from my poetry compilation, "Archaic Smile". It is more than halfway done. I can't wait to see the work in its entirety! Vlora Bekteshi NeziriBorrowed WingsIn the midst of the park trail
I find peace -
with a mind full of tails.
Thinking and walking.
Slowly and slowly.
And thinking and breathing.
Heavily and heavily.
Intensifying thoughts of him.
The breeze encouraging me;
caressing and pushing me.
Fighting the truth to release
the images of my dream.
Closer and closer.
Towards the vision of his profile
of this trance my eyes see.
Walking now running.
Wanting to reach him.
The breeze becomes demanding.
Shoving my shoulders
Hovering right and left;
left and right.
Creating Nike’s fuelling,
victorious wings.
Running faster and faster.
Wings lighten my body -
more and more
the faster I go.
Twisting forward and back.
Back and forward.
Proud shoulders bend
lifting onwards.
Sensual curves lead my arms.
Formed of a tantalizing,
soft feathery fantasy.
And breathing and panting
Heavily and slowly.
Rising on the tips of my toes.
Thinking then hearing
my soul crying out to embrace him.
And slower then slowly
the breeze disappears.
He is nowhere to be seen.
Wings withdraw;
were never mine initially.
My body drops as if nonentity.
Truth imprisons my vision.
I head back with dragging shoulders
and a shattered dream.
Still, the vision of him,
time after time
haunts me to extreme.
