Poems by Amang ReyesYour laughter needed nowLike I or not I’d like to believe
What you are now is because
Of what happened yesterday;
When you smile a lot and show
A cheerful disposition, you must
Have been happy, you must have
Had a jolly good time when you
Were young which clearly shows
Now when you’re a bit older
With such a cheery disposition
That you now display.
When however you display a sour
Face most of the day, too serious
At times, not smiling when there’s
A reason to smile, and have a cheerful
Disposition when the day looks good,
Then something must have gone awry,
As a child you must have been unhappy
And really felt sorry for yourself and early
On you’ve lost your childhood and the good
Memories you should have of playing in the
Sunlight, and nighttime at times gazing in the
Moonlight and see a smiling face there looking
At you as a little child – and you see yourself
Playing with elves and little angels and still
Have no nightmares to wake you up at night.
Ah friends, don’t take me seriously, really
I may be wrong – see even at a later age,
One can still play with elves and bigger angels
To cover up for lost childhood, and he may
Learn to smile again and have a lot of laughter
A laugh that may mock, or bring a smile – doesn’t
Really matter – its still a laughter that we need
In this world that oft turned topsy-turvey, no
Rhyme, no reason – perhaps too because of some
Sad sad stories it must have had in its distant past,
So you’re not alone you see – and with your laughter
Now, there’s still hope for mankind and the world
That he lives in.
Dear God, I’m not alone, your with
me and others too – thank God.Someone wrote recently wrote
my lines inspire for she can relate
and somehow is inspired by them.
I suppose when one writes from the heart
where his heartaches, and long-kept
pent- feelings are released with all
the joys, laughters and wondrous
anticipation too of things he expects to come
as well his as frustrations and despair too –
the whole gamut of human experience,
even signs of human frailties, and strengths
- he can relate, and touch others too
as human as he is.
That’s why at the start when I began to seriously
write in lighthearted vein at times, and in as simple,
and as spontaneous even ungrammatical way,
like nursery rhymes I say, no care for forms, just my own
way, I knew simple people with simple feelings, as human
as I am, will be touched - for I write from the heart,
and there’s a reason and a need for me to do so.
Thanks for telling me - hey man, how about that,
Some out there are listening, I’m not alone – dear God,
you’re with me, and others too. ( No, heh, heh, this time,
o siguro puede pa rin).
The deadly game of hide and seekThis world is still filled with wonder
Just look at its majestic image,
So unimaginable to describe, an amazing
Wonder really, yet beneath is façade
Of wonder and beauty, deadliness persist
And death defying struggles go on
From the simplest creature to the more
Complex ones, they may not know it
And may not even accept it, but yes,
Senor Darwin is right, it’s still survival
Of the fittest, and it goes on daily,
But it can’t be helped, Just have to accept it.
Even inside of you the struggle persists, there’s
Where invisible germs and tiny worms may devour,
And that’s the time you realize you’re not really
The master of your own fate and destiny, maybe
they’re the germs and the tiny worms, they’re are
The real kings and masters, unseen but deadly creatures
Who’ll later devour you dead and clean up your bones
and turn them to limes and stones.
What to do? I suggest just play the game; like the kids’
Play of hide and seek, you hide and they seek, and while
You’re hiding, enjoy yourself, it’s but a game, but a deadly
Game for if you’re found, you end up dead.
Heh heh Heh.
